External funding for all the research undertaken at MTU is derived from a wide range of sources, including the EU Horizon programmes, Erasmus+, Science Foundation Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, and direct funding from our industry partners nationally. MTU works closely with employers, regionally, nationally and internationally to ensure our programmes are relevant to specific industry sectors. Uniquely, MTU Kerry shares a campus with a Technology Park. This proximity has further enabled the development of links with a range of cutting-edge start-ups, global companies, and internationally recognised research centres. Companies operating from Kerry Technology Park provide work placement opportunities for our students and work opportunities for our graduates. Also located on the Kerry Campus at Kerry Technology Park is the Tom Crean Business Centre. Funded by Enterprise Ireland, this business incubation centre celebrates 15 years in operation in 2021, during which time well over 100 sustainable jobs have been created by businesses at the Centre, and over €1 million investment raised. Today, the Tom Crean Business Centre is home to 30 businesses, directly employing over 70 people.

Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. I.J. Paderewskiego Akademickie is a public secondary school teaching four levels of Secondary Education with approximately 480 students (aged 15-19) coming from various socio-economic backgrounds. There are about 48 teachers working in the school. Our students take part in activities promoting universal values and preventing social exclusion, e.g. supporting the rights of people with disabilities and issues of social integration, as well as aiming to raise public awareness and sensitise young people to the needs and functioning of people with various limitations.
The school organises a wide variety of activities to enable students to develop diverse interests, choosing the right path for further education, learning about the contemporary labour market and acquiring the competences necessary for a good functioning in the modern world.
